Basketball Recap: Elliott County Finds Home Court Redemption Against West Carter

There's no place like home for Elliott County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 46-37 win over the West Carter Comets on Friday. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Comets are ranked 243rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Elliott County pushed their record up to 11-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for West Carter, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Elliott County Lions take on the Jackson City Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for West Carter, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 67-60 defeat against Berea on the 1st.
