Softball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

Franklin lost against Surry County back in May of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Broncos came up short against the Cougars, falling 22-2. That's two games in a row now that the Broncos have lost by exactly 20 runs.

Ja'Najh Frazier made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Franklin has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-5-1 record this season. Surry County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Franklin will challenge rival Southampton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Surry County is set to face off against their familiar foe Windsor at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
