Volleyball Preview: Whetstone Braves vs. Briggs Bruins
The Whetstone Braves are on the road again on Saturday to play the Briggs Bruins at 12:00 p.m.
Whetstone is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since August 24th last Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to Central Crossing. The shutout was out of character for the Braves seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.
The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-15.
Meanwhile, Briggs had already won nine in a row and they went ahead and made it ten on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 3-0 win.
Briggs was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22, 25-14.
Kinsey Rife was the offensive standout of the match as she had 15 digs.
Whetstone moved to 16-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Briggs, they pushed their record up to 20-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
