Baseball Recap: Combine Academy Varsity Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Legion Collegiate Academy, Combine Academy Varsity was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Winston Salem Christian Lions 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Goats: when they faced off against the Lions back in March, they had to take a 12-7 loss.

Combine Academy Varsity moved to 3-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Winston Salem Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Combine Academy Varsity will host Grace Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Goats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Winston Salem Christian, they will be playing at home against Asheville Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
