League recap: Perez's hot bat leads Miami Christian

2A District 15 league recap: 3/13/13

Miguel Perez was on fire this week, as he led 2A District 15 with a .714 average, two home runs and seven RBIs. Meanwhile, Miami Christian put together a 2-1 week.

Brito had a successful week, as it won three total games to lead the league. The Panthers beat Champagnat Catholic 10-0, the Lions 10-0 and Westminster Christian 10-5.

Westwood Christian's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only seven hits and 12 walks, both of which led the league.

There were seven hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. The group was paced by Miguel Perez, who collected five hits in seven at bats for a .714 average.

The most RBI in the league this week belonged to the Victors' Perez, who drove in seven. He now stands at 15 RBIs on the season, which puts him first in the league.



J.c Llaser led Miami Christian to a win on March 6, as he notched 11 strikeouts to beat Palmer Trinity, 6-1.

Perez was an RBI machine on Friday, as he knocked in four runs during the Victors' 12-10 win over Keys Gate. He went 2-for-3 and scored one run.
