Baseball Game Preview: Marshall Bears vs. Capitol Hill Redwolves

Marshall hasn't had much luck against Capitol Hill recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bears will square off against the Redwolves at 4:00 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Pauls Valley hit Marshall with a 19-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bears lost 22-0 to the Panthers.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Capitol Hill and Norman, and Norman kept the tradition alive. The Redwolves came up short against the Timberwolves on Monday, falling 12-0. The Redwolves haven't had much luck with the Timberwolves recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Capitol Hill saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ariel Salazar, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Salazar's first of the season.

Capitol Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 5-26. As for Marshall, their loss dropped their record down to 0-19.

Marshall might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Capitol Hill in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
