Soccer Recap: The Villages Charter Comes Up Short

The Villages Charter and Lake Highland Prep squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but The Villages Charter had to settle for second. They lost 7-0 to the Lake Highland Prep Highlanders. While losing is never fun, the Buffalo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Highlanders are ranked 23rd).

This is the second loss in a row for The Villages Charter and nudges their season record down to 11-4-2. As for Lake Highland Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which lines up perfectly with their 12-2-1 record this season.

The Villages Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Highland Prep, they will square off against Academy of the Holy Names at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Highland Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.
