The Pickerington Central Tigers will face off against the Licking Heights Hornets at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Friday, Pickerington Central got the win against Buckeye Valley by a conclusive 11-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Samara Williams looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Natalya Lim and Jenna Robinson did most of the damage at the plate: Lim went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Robinson went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Lim a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Kounouzvelis, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Pickerington Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .515. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Licking Heights never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Bishop Hartley last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 14-2 victory.
Natalie Mahoney made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Mahoney was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Alissa West was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two triples, four RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Lily Reich, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.
The win got Pickerington Central back to even at 2-2. As for Licking Heights, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pickerington Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .392. However, it's not like Licking Heights struggles in that department as they've averaged .357. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
