Preview: Simon Gratz Bulldogs vs. Northeast Vikings

Last Thursday, Simon Gratz strolled past Academy at Palumbo with points to spare, taking the game 67-53. The win made it back-to-back wins for Simon Gratz.
In what's become a running theme this season, Northeast gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 73-36 victory over Central. Given Northeast's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Central is ranked 545th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Simon Gratz pushed their record up to 15-6 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Northeast, their win bumped their record up to 18-4.
Simon Gratz came up short against Northeast when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 69-64. Can Simon Gratz avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
