Basketball Game Preview: Abundant Life Owls vs. Gospel Light Christian Lions

The Abundant Life Owls will face off against the Gospel Light Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Abundant Life will be strutting in after a victory while Gospel Light Christian will be coming in after a loss.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Abundant Life challenged Faulkner County HomeSchool on Monday. Abundant Life walked away with a 39-27 win over Faulkner County HomeSchool. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Owls' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 376th, while the Falcons are ranked 142nd).

Abundant Life's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rosie Townsend, who posted six points along with ten rebounds and six steals. Townsend is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Amber Kahler, who scored ten points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

Gospel Light Christian played against Little Rock HomeSchool and lost via forfeit.

Abundant Life's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Gospel Light Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6.

Abundant Life didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Gospel Light Christian in their previous matchup last Friday, but they still walked away with a 56-52 win. Will Abundant Life repeat their success, or does Gospel Light Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
