Houston had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-7 to make it eight. They fell just short of the Palmer Moose by a score of 4-3. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 21-4 to the Moose when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Palmer, the victory got them back to even at 5-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted against Houston since April 15, 2022.

For Palmer's part, Laekyn Leroux made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those nine strikeouts gave Leroux a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, Olivia Del Bianco and Lizzy McQuillin did most of the damage at the plate: Del Bianco went 2-for-3 with one home run and one triple, while McQuillin went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave McQuillin a new career-high. Rylei Doyle was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
