Football Game Preview: Trinity Bulldogs vs. East Davidson Golden Eagles + How To Watch

For the first time this season, Trinity will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. After each having a week off, they and the East Davidson Golden Eagles will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Davidson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Trinity, who comes in off a win.

Trinity is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Surry Central 48-24 last Friday. With the Bulldogs ahead 34-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Khad'N Fuller produced another solid effort rushing for 168 yards and four scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 122 yards and a pair of TDs. Zaire Gill got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Trinity's run defense was locked in: Surry Central could only muster 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Jax Dillard for the heroic effort on defense: he. Trinity didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.1.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Gill, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, East Davidson was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against Lexington Senior, falling 40-0.

East Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Trinity, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Everything came up roses for Trinity against East Davidson in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 54-22 win. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
