Baseball Recap: Guilderland Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Guilderland's offense. They fell just short of the Shenendehowa High School by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The Flyin Dutchman were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the High School earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Nick Scott was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April.

At the plate, Guilderland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elliott Iddings, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Guilderland has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Shenendehowa, they moved to 6-8 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Guilderland will challenge rival Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Shenendehowa is set to take on their familiar foe Bethlehem Central at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
