Basketball Game Preview: MacDonald Condor vs. Monta Vista Matadors

The MacDonald Condor will head out on the road to face off against the Monta Vista Matadors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: MacDonald has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Monta Vista will arrive with six straight wins.

MacDonald is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Saratoga on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. MacDonald was outmatched by Saratoga and fell 78-36. While losing is never fun, the Condor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1015th, while the Falcons are ranked 329th).

Meanwhile, Monta Vista hadn't done well against Lynbrook recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Monta Vista put the hurt on Lynbrook with a sharp 68-48 victory.

Monta Vista pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points over those games. As for MacDonald, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.

MacDonald took a serious blow against Monta Vista in their previous matchup back in January, falling 75-43. Can MacDonald avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
