Softball Recap: Gladwin Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Gladwin's offense. They fell 5-0 to the Standish-Sterling Panthers on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Flying G's in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Alexis Farrow spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Gladwin's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Standish-Sterling, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.

While Gladwin had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
