Baseball Game Preview: Okemah Panthers vs. Haskell Haymakers

The Okemah Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Haskell Haymakers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Okemah is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Okemah made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Warner, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 4-2 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since April 2nd.

Keiton Thompson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks.

Meanwhile, Haskell didn't have quite enough to beat Stroud on Friday and fell 4-3.

Haskell also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Elias Gonzales gave up just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Haskell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryker Porter, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

Haskell's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Okemah, their loss dropped their record down to 8-23.
