Softball Recap: Mayfield Comes Up Short

Mayfield lost against South back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Wildcats came up short against the Rebels, falling 16-6. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sarah Piazza stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Mikesell, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Mayfield's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for South, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Mayfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-3 win against Twinsburg on the 12th. As for South, they have also already played their next match, an 8-4 victory against Perry on the 12th.
