Recap: Hartsville Red Foxes vs. Lee Central Stallions
The Hartsville Red Foxes were the 62-50 winner over the Lee Central Stallions when they last played one another last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. Hartsville fell 61-53 to Lee Central on Monday. Hartsville just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Kayson Dawson and EJ Smith certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Dawson scored 12 points, while Smith scored ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of McCoy Harry, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Lee Central found their leader in underclassman Kiauj Allen, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Jamisen Wilds, who scored 17 points.
Hartsville has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Lee Central, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hartsville will take on West Florence at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. West Florence is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Lee Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Marion at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Marion knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Lee Central likes a good challenge.
