Recap: Ygnacio Valley Wolves vs. Miramonte Matadors
The Ygnacio Valley Wolves had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Miramonte 79-45 at home. Ygnacio Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Ygnacio Valley was led to victory by Jalan Cody and Antonio Kellogg Jr. Cody dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Kellogg Jr almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. Kellogg Jr hasn't dropped below three steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Loyal Morris, who scored 16 points.
Despite the loss, Miramonte still got an impressive performance from Jack Quinnild, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chase Miller, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Ygnacio Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. As for Miramonte, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-11 record this season.
Ygnacio Valley will square off against Benicia at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Averaging 68.22 points so far this season, Ygnacio Valley's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Benicia better be ready for a challenge. Miramonte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
