Preview: Chapin Eagles vs. White Knoll Timberwolves
The Chapin Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the White Knoll Timberwolves at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chapin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while White Knoll is ranked fifth).
Last Thursday, Chapin took a serious blow against Dutch Fork, falling 41-8. Chapin was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.
Despite the loss, Chapin got a solid performance out of Jacob Nerone, who picked up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, White Knoll put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They didn't even let Lexington onto the board and left with a 16-0 win.
The critical scores for White Knoll came from Austin Cunningham and Landon Sharpe.
White Knoll's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB six times. Leading the way was Lincoln Ilungampumbu and his three sacks.
White Knoll's victory bumped their season record to 8-0 while Chapin's defeat dropped theirs to 5-3.
Things could have been worse for Chapin, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 38-21 loss to White Knoll in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can Chapin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
