League recap: A.C. Reynolds tops North Buncombe to extend winning streak

A.C. Reynolds extended the longest winning streak in 4A/3A Mountain this week by beating North Buncombe, 49-6. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.

Erwin moved up to 105 from 135 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Warriors were able to make move up by defeating Asheville 61-35.

Roberson's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Reggie Pinear threw for 41 and one touchdown and Cody Moore had 49 yards receiving. On the ground Malik Griffin chipped in 111 yards. Zach Dollinger helped Roberson's passing attack out by catching four balls for 38 yards.

Mahogany Suber made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Rams defeated Enka. The 6-foot-2 senior pulled down one interception.

Noah Suber provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Roberson bested the Jets. He completed eight passes for 76 yards and also ran for 77 yards.

Thanks to the talents of Levi Ledford and Jave Jones A.C. Reynolds has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Ledford leads the league in passing with 1483 yards, while Jones has rushed for 1075 yards this season. Jim Beatty's team's Moore leads the league in receiving yards with 484 on 26 catches.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Erwin takes on the Cougars. At the moment, Mike Sexton's team is in fourth, while Asheville is in fifth.

The Rams took down Enka 53-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Suber in the win.
