Basketball Recap: Blue Springs South Comes Up Short

Blue Springs South was the 55-47 winner over Blue Springs when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Blue Springs South Jaguars fell just short of the Blue Springs Wildcats by a score of 62-59 on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Jaguars came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Wildcats are ranked 81st).

Blue Springs South's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Blue Springs, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.

Looking ahead, Blue Springs South will face off against Staley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Staley has won seven straight at home, while Blue Springs South won seven straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Blue Springs, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats challenge the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
