Bonneville had taken Clearfield down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Lakers took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. The Lakers have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Ellee Summers was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Samantha Mills also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Box Elder entered their tilt with Northridge on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Knights 22-2. The result was nothing new for the Bees, who have now won 17 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Kennadie Blackmer made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Lucy Griffin and Kailee Hall did most of the damage at the plate: Griffin went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Hall got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and five runs. That's the most RBI Griffin has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Richards, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Box Elder kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Box Elder pushed their record up to 22-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Bonneville, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
Bonneville suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Box Elder in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Lakers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
