Basketball Recap: Luke Nelson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Teton over Sugar-Salem

After flying high against South Fremont last Monday, Teton came back down to earth. The Teton Timberwolves fell 50-42 to the Sugar-Salem Diggers on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Diggers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 60-50 loss two weeks ago.

Several Timberwolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Nelson, who posted 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Bradley Brown, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Teton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Teton's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Sugar-Salem, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Looking ahead, Teton will be playing in front of their home fans against South Fremont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Teton is facing South Fremont at the right time seeing as South Fremont is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Sugar-Salem does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
