Baseball Game Preview: Buckingham Charter Knights vs. Sacramento Country Day Cavaliers

Buckingham Charter is a perfect 10-0 against Sacramento Country Day since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Cavaliers at 4:00 p.m. Buckingham Charter is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

On Saturday, Buckingham Charter came up short against Foresthill and fell 5-1.

Meanwhile, Sacramento Country Day lost 11-3 to Foresthill on Monday.

Max Weitzman and Dylan Sullivan did some serious damage despite the final result: Weitzman went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Sullivan got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Weitzman has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Ryan Pirie was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Buckingham Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Sacramento Country Day, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Buckingham Charter has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Sacramento Country Day struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Buckingham Charter's way against Sacramento Country Day in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Buckingham Charter made off with a 12-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
