Baseball Recap: Kettle Run Finds Playoff Glory Versus Warren County

With a playoff win on the line, Kettle Run rose to the challenge on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Warren County Wildcats 3-1. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Kettle Run got a great performance from Jayden Ritz as he pitched 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, Ritz posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, Kettle Run saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clay Southwick, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Kettle Run's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Warren County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

Kettle Run will be playing in front of their home fans against Brentsville District at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Warren County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
