Football Game Preview: Dawson Eagles vs. Sam Rayburn Texans + How To Watch

The Dawson Eagles will challenge the Sam Rayburn Texans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dawson will be strutting in after a victory while Sam Rayburn will be coming in after a defeat.

Dawson will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 13 points last Friday, then bounced right back against South Houston on Friday. The Eagles claimed a resounding 47-6 win over the Trojans. Considering the Eagles have won three matchups by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Dawson's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Kaleb Burks, Sean Bradshaw, and Wealth Modique, who each picked up one sack apiece. Dawson got some further help from Clydell Edmondson: he made 14 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Sam Rayburn played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Manvel, falling 49-6. The Texans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

Dawson's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.0 points on average over those games. As for Sam Rayburn, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
