Basketball Game Preview: Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers vs. KIPP Denver Collegiate White Tigers

If KIPP Denver Collegiate heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Cripple Creek-Victor took over last week. Cripple Creek-Victor strolled past Colorado School for the Deaf Blind with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 30-14.

Among those leading the charge was Rylee May, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Cripple Creek-Victor's points. Another player making a difference was Aubreanna Becker, who posted two points in addition to ten rebounds and five steals.

Meanwhile, everything went KIPP Denver Collegiate's way against STEM School Highlands Ranch last Tuesday as KIPP Denver Collegiate made off with a 39-13 win. That's two games straight that the White Tigers have won by exactly 26 points.

Cripple Creek-Victor better keep an eye on Shaila Ramirez. She was instrumental in KIPP Denver Collegiate's win, putting up 17 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Ramirez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Ricalday, who put up ten points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Cripple Creek-Victor now has a winning record of 2-1. As for KIPP Denver Collegiate, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
