Football Game Preview: Charlotte Christian Knights vs. Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Eagles

The Charlotte Christian Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Friday, Charlotte Christian made easy work of Christ School and carried off a 44-21 victory. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 21 points or more this season.

Tate Estep was the offensive standout of the contest as he picked up 98 receiving yards and one touchdown. Maxton Miller was in the mix as well, providing Charlotte Christian with one score.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Charlotte Christian's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was Jack Gullickson with two. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.2 total tackles per game. Charlotte Christian received some extra help from Miller, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Christian Brothers. The Eagles took a 59-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cadets. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game back in September (34), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Charlotte Christian will need to focus on slowing down Walker Bryson, one of several Rabun Gap-Nacoochee players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 133 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown. Cj Willingham also helped out as he racked up 118 receiving yards.

The win made it two in a row for Charlotte Christian and bumps their season record up to 3-3. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points over those games. As for Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-4.
