Soccer Game Preview: Grafton vs. Nicholas County

The Grafton Bearcats will face off against the Nicholas County Grizzlies at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Grafton is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Bridgeport, who was ranked sixth at the time (Grafton was ranked 19th). The Bearcats fell just short of the Indians by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. Grafton's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Nicholas County and PikeView finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw on Thursday.

Nicholas County's draw gives them a new season record of 7-7-3. As for Grafton, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4-2.

Everything went Grafton's way against Nicholas County in their previous matchup back in August of 2024, as Grafton made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Bearcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grizzlies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
