Baseball Game Preview: Mount Sinai Mustangs vs. Miller Place Panthers

For the second straight game, Mount Sinai will face off against Miller Place. The Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

While Mustangs fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Miller Place on Tuesday. The Mustangs have beaten the Panthers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Panthers has come to flipping the script.

Jake Zabbara tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Shawn Flannery, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Chin, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Mount Sinai was able to grind out a solid victory over Miller Place in their previous matchup on Tuesday, winning 5-1. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
