Softball Game Preview: Sandalwood Saints vs. Orange Park Raiders

The Sandalwood Saints will venture away from home to face off against the Orange Park Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sandalwood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Sandalwood saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They lost 9-3 to Atlantic Coast. The defeat continues a trend for the Saints in their meetings with the Stingrays: they've now lost three in a row.

Annie Bascon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Madison Seprish, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Orange Park posted their closest win since April 18, 2024 on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Bolles 2-1. The game was the first time the Raiders have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since March 11, 2020.

Avery Louque spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Zoe Pascoe was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Sandalwood's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Orange Park, their record is now 3-12.

Sandalwood couldn't quite get it done against Orange Park in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Can the Saints avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
