Softball Recap: Athens Snaps 11-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Athens couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Northwestern Lehigh Tigers on Monday, falling 11-0. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Wildcats, who until this matchup were averaging 1.79 runs allowed.

Athens' defeat ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 21-3. As for Northwestern Lehigh, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 21-3.

Athens does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northwestern Lehigh, they have already played their next contest, a 6-4 win against Interboro on the 5th.
