Basketball Game Preview: Broaddus Bulldogs vs. Martinsville Pirates

Broaddus hasn't had much luck against Martinsville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Broaddus Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Martinsville Pirates at 6:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Friday, Broaddus was fully in charge, breezing past Laneville 80-9. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 1504th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Martinsville against Kennard on Friday as the squad secured a 65-22 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Broaddus has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 45 points. As for Martinsville, they pushed their record up to 14-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Broaddus came up short against Martinsville in their previous meeting back in December of 2016, falling 46-33. Can Broaddus avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
