Softball Recap: Midland Valley Victorious

Midland Valley never let their opponents score on Monday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Brookland-Cayce Bearcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-3 back in March.

Not much got past Karley Bedenbaugh, who gave up just a hit and racked up 15 Ks to keep Brookland-Cayce off the board. Bedenbaugh has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Addison Haltiwanger, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2025. Macey Nelson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Midland Valley's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Brookland-Cayce, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midland Valley will welcome Fox Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Brookland-Cayce, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gray Collegiate Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
