New Athens has gone 8-2 against Dupo recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets will challenge the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. New Athens is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Things were looking good for New Athens after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chester. The Yellow Jackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

New Athens saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamie Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Dupo had just enough and edged out Wesclin 2-1 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Kylie Kloess spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Adrienne Latimer, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Lily McMannis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Dupo's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for New Athens, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. New Athens hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .312. However, it's not like Dupo struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

New Athens suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Dupo when the teams last played on Tuesday. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
