Football Recap: Forrest Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Micah Morgan and Quincy Mitchell

If Forrest was feeling good fresh off their 38-6 takedown of Fayetteville last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rockets lost to the Sequatchie County Indians at home by a 54-35 margin on Friday. While the Rockets didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Indians 20-12 in the first quarter.

Forrest's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Quincy Mitchell, who rushed for 166 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and Micah Morgan, who rushed for 51 yards and two TDs. Mitchell is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 121 every time he's taken the field this season. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Jacob Tincher, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Forrest's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Sequatchie County, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forrest will face off against Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets will be up against the Vikings/Viqueens' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sequatchie County, they will welcome Watertown at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The Purple Tigers' defense has only allowed 13.3 points per game this season, so the Indians' offense will have their work cut out for them.
