Baseball Recap: Newark Norsemen vs. Somonauk Bobcats

Newark had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Somonauk Bobcats by a score of 11-7 on Monday. The victory was just what Newark needed coming off of a 12-1 loss in their prior matchup.

Kaleb Carlson and Landon Begovac did most of the damage at the plate: Carlson scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Begovac scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Adams, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Newark's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-15. As for Somonauk, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Newark will have a chance to go back-to-back against Somonauk: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
