Volleyball Recap: Central Academy of Technology & Arts Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It was a proper cat-fight when Central Academy of Technology & Arts challenged Union Academy on Monday. The Cougars came up short against the Cardinals, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-14, 25-22.

Rayley Wells paced Central Academy of Technology & Arts' offense, picking up eight kills. Wells got some help from Fiona Mollica and her six assists. Wells was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Union Academy found their leader in sophomore Landry Carson, who had 11 digs.

Central Academy of Technology & Arts has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Union Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-3.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Central Academy of Technology & Arts and Mount Pleasant will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Union Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Gray Stone Day on the 30th.
