Basketball Recap: Dublin Jerome Takes a Loss

If Dublin Jerome was riding high fresh off their 60-30 takedown of Groveport-Madison last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Dublin Jerome Celtics took a 58-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Olentangy Braves on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Celtics in their matchups with the Braves: they've now lost five in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Dublin Jerome lost, don't look at Angel Ezirim. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds. That's the most points Ezirim has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Meadow Ahijevych, who scored eight points.

Even though they lost, Dublin Jerome smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Dublin Jerome's loss dropped their record down to 17-5. As for Olentangy, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-3.
