Basketball Recap: Union Tigers vs. Pocahontas County Warriors

While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Warriors are ranked 31st).

When it comes to explaining why Union lost, don't look at Lexi Stahl. Despite the final result, she posted 17 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Calli Propst was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 16 boards and nine assists.
The loss snapped Union's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-14 record. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.0 points on average over those games. As for Pocahontas County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
