Football Recap: Tom Bean Comes Up Short

Tom Bean entered their matchup against Wolfe City on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Tomcats took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves. That's two games in a row now that the Tomcats have lost by exactly seven points.

Despite the loss, Tom Bean still got an impressive performance from Donnie Hooten, who threw for 229 yards and a pair of touchdowns. A healthy portion of that aerial production (86 yards to be exact) went to Camden Stephens.

Hd Davis had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 503 yards and three scores while picking up 11.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 64 receiving yards and one TD for Wolfe City. Those 503 rushing yards gave Davis a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brennon Russell, who picked up 80 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 6-2. As for Wolfe City, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3.

Coming up, Tom Bean is taking a road trip to challenge Nocona at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wolfe City, they will be playing at home against Whitewright at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
