Baseball Recap: Milburn Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Milburn ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Caney Cougars 10-9. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Alex Wingo was a standout: he went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rage Smith, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Milburn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Milburn's victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Milburn and Caney will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Eagles see the field they'll take on Soper at 4:30 p.m. on September 2. As for Caney, their break will end when they face Kiowa at 12:00 p.m. on September 20.
