Baseball Game Preview: Grove City Christian Eagles vs. Miller Falcons

The Grove City Christian Eagles will take on the Miller Falcons at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Grove City Christian's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four matches, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Last Saturday, Grove City Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Liberty Union and fell 2-1.

Grove City Christian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Patrick, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Patrick's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Miller got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They came out on top against Fisher Catholic by a score of 9-5. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Irish: they've now won three in a row.

Tyler Hartley made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits. Hartley was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryce Dorsey, who scored a run and stole five bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Nick Thompson, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Grove City Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Miller, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Grove City Christian took their win against Miller in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-1 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
