Basketball Recap: Jaylon Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Academy for Classical Education over Central

Academy for Classical Education was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 67-51 bruising from the Central Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gryphons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-52 back in January.

Academy for Classical Education lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jaylon Davis, who went 8 for 13 en route to 18 points and five blocks. That's the most points Davis has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Camden Bailey, who scored 14 points.

Academy for Classical Education's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Bleckley County the next time they take the court. Central will head out to face Bleckley County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Academy for Classical Education will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
