Football Game Preview: Fox Creek Predators vs. Newberry Bulldogs

Fox Creek is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They will be playing at home against the Newberry Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Fox Creek's defense has only allowed 9.8 points per game this season, so Newberry's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Fox Creek had been on a five-game streak of scoring at least 31 points, but Orangeburg-Wilkinson put an end to it on Friday. The Predators took a 21-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bruins. The contest marked the Predators' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Fox Creek's loss came about despite a quality game from Bryson Crawford, who rushed for 59 yards and two TDs. Crawford is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Newberry strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Silver Bluff, sneaking past 22-19. Given Newberry's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Silver Bluff is ranked 106th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Newberry's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Fox Creek, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
