It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Farmersville had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Van Vandals 10-8. Farmersville's win was all the more impressive since Van was averaging only 1.66 runs allowed on the season.
Farmersville got a massive performance out of Destiney Madewell, who went 3-for-5 with a home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Bella Holland, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and a run.
Farmersville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season. As for Van, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 32-3.
