Basketball Recap: Fountain Inn Piles Up the Points Against Southside

Fountain Inn had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 58-31 victory over the Southside Tigers. The Fury have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Fountain Inn found their leader in sophomore Chaniya Jackson, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 15 boards. That's the most rebounds Jackson has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Zipora Sullivan, who scored eight points and three steals.

Fountain Inn's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Southside, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Westside the next time they take the court. Fountain Inn will head out to face Westside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Southside will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
