Baseball Recap: Glens Falls Triumphs

Glens Falls took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Queensbury, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Black Bears came out on top in a nail-biter against the Spartans on Wednesday, sneaking past 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Black Bears: when they faced off against the Spartans on Monday, they had to take a 9-3 defeat.

Aidan Perry was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Perry was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chace Davidson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Brayden Bennett was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

Glens Falls is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Queensbury fell to 9-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glens Falls will square off against Scotia-Glenville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tartans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Black Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Queensbury, they will face off against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
