Softball Recap: Eau Gallie Has No Trouble Against Oakleaf

After only two runs in their last game, Eau Gallie made sure to put some runs up on the board against Oakleaf on Saturday. The Commodores blew past the Knights 14-2. The result was nothing new for the Commodores, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Eau Gallie let Shyla Eppert and Ainsley O'Dell run wild. Eppert scored three runs while going 1-for-3, while O'Dell went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI O'Dell has posted since back in February. Leah 'Spike' Pechart was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Eau Gallie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oakleaf only posted a batting average of .222.

Eau Gallie moved to 12-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Oakleaf, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.

Coming up, Eau Gallie will challenge St. Mary's at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oakleaf, they will take on Keystone Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Indians have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
